Older people are extremely prone to falls. The "OTAGO" exercise comes to strengthen their body and improve their balance, in order to avoid falls and injuries.
What is the OTAGO Exercise Program (OEP)
OEP is one of the most popular exercise programs for seniors. It is a complete system of warm-up and recovery exercises, created after research by the Medical School of OTAGO University in New Zealand.
It is performed by a specialized and certified physiotherapist of the OTAGO program, individually or in small groups of people, which has been shown to have better results.

Target Audience
It is considered extremely effective for people over 65, with or without a history of falls, as well as in the elderly who are able to walk alone, with or without the help of a cane or walker type "P".
The OTAGO Exercise Program is ideal for people who have reduced strength and imbalance because e.g. suffer from arthritis, are recovering from an injury, or have neurological or severe vision problems.
It is also aimed at people who do not have a good balance and fall systematically, as well as adults who are weak, e.g. after an extended stay in bed due to hospitalization.
